When we ponder the meaning of life (as everyone does at some point) there are three basic questions every human being must ask – and will typically answer based on the foundation on which they have built their worldview: Where did we come from (our origins), Why are we here (our purpose), and Where are we going (our destiny)? So it should not come as a surprise that the Apostle John opens his Gospel by introducing us to Jesus Christ by connecting Him to the origins of our very existence, and so begins to answer the first big question every human ponders: Where did we come from?
