Boasting In The Cross
Bible Text: Galatians 6:11-16 | Preacher: Eric Kretschmer | Series: Easter
The idea of boasting is to puff ones self up bigger than they actually are. People have an intrinsic desire to have others respect and love them, and so feel the need to boast in their own skills, achievements, moral character, and so on. This human behavior of boasting extends beyond our human relationships, to God Himself. Many believe we must earn the love of God, and so boast in our good works and moral character, hoping to gain God’s love and acceptance. This is the main point the Apostle Paul is making in our passage this morning.
