Leading By Example
Bible Text: John 13:1-20 | Preacher: Eric Kretschmer | Series: John
What makes a good leader? According to the magazine “Entrepreneur”: “The word “leader” makes most people think of a domineering, take-charge, charismatic individual. People often think of icons from history like General Patton or President Lincoln.”
According to the Business Dictionary, the definition of a leader is ” A person or thing that holds a dominant or superior position within its field, and is able to exercise a high degree of control or influence over others.
And then we come to this morning’s passage in John chapter 13, when Jesus is finally alone with His disciples the night before His crucifixion, giving them His final words of encouragement and directives. And He begins with an object lesson of what true leadership looks like for the Followers of Christ.
