The passage we will be in this morning has two intertwining accounts going on at once. It is analogous to looking at a rope. When you look a the rope in it’s entirety it looks like one piece, but on closer inspection you realize the rope is made up of multiple strands wrapped around each other. The account we are in this morning has one over-arching theme and conclusion, but two intertwining events leading up to this single climactic conclusion: Jesus claiming to be God’s Son.
