Our God is communicative; He is a God of purpose and intention. So one thing we always need to keep in mind when looking at the recorded miracles of God and Jesus in the Bible is the fact that all miracles serve the purpose of communicating something about God’s and/or Jesus’ nature, as well as something about our own human nature.This morning I want to focus on the theological meaning behind this miracle. Just as everyone is born spiritually blind in sin, so the man healed by Jesus was born physically blind. And just as Jesus was the one who restored the man’s physical sight, our spiritual sight is restored once we place our faith in Jesus. We need to keep this in mind as we read this morning’s passage.
