Bible Text: Jonah 1:1-3 | Preacher: Eric Kretschmer | Series: Jonah

As we begin our next sermon series in the book of Jonah, it is important to note that there are two major themes in Jonah: First, God’s Sovereign power over individuals, the natural world, and the nations verses humanity’s own free will. Second, God’s mercy and love knows no bounds, expressing His mercy and love to the Jewish and Gentile nations alike. In this morning’s passage we will begin by looking at the challenge of the Lord’s call, as well as some of the possible motives behind Jonah’s desire to run from God.
