The definition of love I will be using this morning is in the context of God’s love for His people: A selfless love demonstrated by ‘preferring others over ones self’ or serving the needs of others above your own needs.” This is known as agape love, in the Greek, and is used in this sense approximately 95% of the time when speaking of God’s love for His people in the Bible. This morning I will be looking at three ways that God demonstrates this selfless love towards us.
