This was Jesus’ last miracle before He went to the cross. By raising Lazarus from the dead He was attempting to teach a powerful lesson about the reality of death and eternal life, that can only be obtain through faith in Jesus Christ Himself. This is not just something to look forward to at the Final Day of Judgment and our consummation, but our spiritual renewal in Christ began the day we received Him as our Lord and Savior.
