As we look at this climactic chapter in John’s Book of Signs, I will break this chapter into three parts over three separate weeks: This week we will look at how the circumstances surrounding Lazarus’ death and resurrection challenged the disciples’ faith; then we will look at how this miracle challenged the faith of Mary and Martha; and finally we will see how Jesus’ emotions and actions revealed the heart of God through the working of this miracle.
