Bible Text: John 5:30-47 | Preacher: Eric Kretschmer | Series: John

It seems like a conflict of interest when a person attempts to endorse him or herself for a position, whether political, in their career, or what ever the case may be. Watching political ads where the candidates spoke of their own strengths and reasons for voting for them, followed by a voice over of their own voice “I approve of this message”, struck me as oddly self-serving, although I realize they legally need to endorse their ads. There is more power in an endorsement when others are doing the endorsing, and this is the main thrust of this morning’s passage.
